3 Ways to Thank Your Clients

3 Ways to Thank Your Clients

With Thanksgiving just around the corner, we’ve been thinking of ways we can show our gratitude to our clients. One of the truly amazing parts of the horse industry is its community. People are always willing to lend a hand, give advice, and support each other in their equestrian goals.

Thanking your clients this season is a great way to encourage a sense of community within your horse business. People typically have choices when it comes to their feed store, farrier, boarding stable, and trainer. Make sure you take the time to thank your people for choosing you. Show them how much it means to you that they trusted you with their horse.

So How Can A Horse Business Thank Their Clients?

  1. Handwritten Thank You Notes – If you have under 20 clients, this is an incredibly doable project that’ll have a huge impact. When’s the last time you received a handwritten note? It just doesn’t happen that often anymore. The note can be as simple as “Thank you for supporting my business in 2019. It has been a pleasure working with you and your horse.” Bonus points if you include a baked goodie or coffee card.
  2. Give them Value-Added Content – This can be a small gift via email or printed out and given in person. Something that educates them, entertains them, or makes their life easier. Examples include a recipe for homemade horse treats, a trailer packing list, an emergency kit list, step-by-step instructions on how to tie a rope halter, or a cute comic or horse picture that makes them smile.
  3. Make an Improvement to Your Barn, Lesson Program, or Farrier Service – Grand gestures are not required. This can be as simple as fixing a sticky gate, offering to video a lesson, or putting a topical treatment on the horse’s hooves after you trim them. Small actions performed with a smile are a great way to thank your clients and make them feel appreciated.

These ideas are easy ways to thank your clients that don’t require a ton of time to put together or break the bank. You don’t have to use these exact methods, but you should find a way to thank your clients this season. It will set you apart from your competition and strengthen your relationship with your customers.
