I came to Chainey Briar Stables as a volunteer and quickly fell in love with the people, place, and horses. As a volunteer I was not just given tasks, but taught all aspects of caring for a horse. Unless you ask, there is no way to tell a boarders horse from one of Hardy and Robin’s own horses because everyone is loved and cared for the same. After volunteering for several years, I became an official member of the barn family and purchased my first horse. With many years of horse experience Hardy and Robin are always available to answer questions about nutrition, hoof care, handling, grooming, medical issues or simply offer words of encouragement. As a first time owner these are invaluable qualities in a stable owner. I now have two horses that call CBS home and we couldn’t be happier. I think this quote describes Chainey Briar Stables as a whole: “A barn is a sanctuary in an unsettled world, a sheltered place where life’s true priorities are clear. When you take a step back, it’s not just about horses-it’s about love, life, and learning”
I recently moved my horse from NJ to SC. Of course i was nervous, as my horse has been in NJ for the past 16 years. As soon as I met Robin and Hardy I knew that Chainey Briar was the place for Bo and I. They are extremely welcoming as well as knowledgeable. I feel 100% comfortable leaving Bo in their care. At 20 years old he looks as good as he did at 5. He is a healthy weight, and he always seems happy when I get to the farm. They keep a good eye on him, and always let me know if they notice anything different or unusual about his behavior/health. They truly love each of the horses like they are their own. The barn is always kept clean. The farm boarders are friendly and welcoming, and there is no drama. I am so happy I found Chainey Briar!
Robin and Hardy so far beyond most barns, that they are arguably the most empathetic and selfless barn owners and horse lovers around. Chainy Briar is an oasis, No drama, and leave your troubles at the door, and walk in and reset your soul. !!!
