The state of Mississippi offers long, hot, humid summers and short, mild winters. Due to the mild climate, you may choose from either stall or pasture boarding at most stables.
Hopefully you will enjoy some of the signature Mississippi Magnolia tree shade as you travel along about 100 miles of horse friendly park trails available. The terrain is mostly flat with some hills and nothing over 1,000 feet. When out riding be aware that the state has six venomous snakes - Eastern Diamondback Rattlesnake, Copperhead, Canebrake Rattlesnake, Pigmy Rattlesnake, Cottonmouth and Coral Snake. Also, there may be a black panther or wild hog roaming the woods. Pasture forage will contain a mix of bermudagrass, fescue, Bahia grass and cogon grass. Due to the mild climate you may choose from either stall or pasture board at most stables.
