I have happily returned to riding after decades away. When I was researching barns and trainers, I was looking for a program that would not only teach me to ride, but also teach me what I need to know on the ground, which is something that was glossed over when I rode in my younger years. I am so excited to have found this combination of training with Kathy Boettcher at Meadowsweet! Kathy has decades of experience with horses and training and she wants her students to understand all the aspects of being a horseman/woman so they can be safe and enjoy their horse experience. It is truly learning about horses from the ground up.

Everyone at Meadowsweet is very friendly and helpful. The barns are clean and the horses' well-being is top priority. There a lot of activities to be involved in that go beyond riding in the arena and you can't beat direct access to state park trails. I can't wait to go on my first trail ride.

Whether you're young or not so young, a new rider or have years of experience, Meadowsweet Ranch has something to offer everyone. It's always a good day when I am there!

I have been riding at Meadowsweet for almost a year and I can’t say enough good things. From how well the horses are treated and cared for to the friendliness of the boarders and staff. Everyone is welcoming and always willing to lend a hand. I am head over heels with the lesson horse I ride and have learned so much. Kathy is knowledgeable and very patient with all her students. I would recommend Meadowsweet to anyone from newbies wanting to learn the basics to seasoned riders looking for a home away from home.

My daughter has been riding there for years and learning much more than just how to ride. The staff is knowledgeable, kind, and courteous to the riders and ridees. There are fun events, opportunities to help at camp and go on trail rides.
