April maintains a robust network that includes top breeders, farriers, veterinarians, and trainers, like John and Beezie Madden, both in the US and in Europe. After managing and owning several farms of her own in NC and GA, she has decided to give up her amateur status and begin sharing her wealth of knowledge by training & boarding out of her own farm. April is looking for students who are competitive and empathetic and who want to be accomplished horseman both inside and outside the ring.
As a mother of two children and a life-long rider, April enjoys working with and training riders of all ages. She enjoys being around others who enjoy, appreciate and care for horses as much as she does.

Having grown up in the area, I have tried almost every trainer (I think there are only 2 I have not tried). I was on the UGA NCAA Equestrian team and can say, without a doubt, that April is the best horseman I know. Having known her for a couple years of years, I have found her to be a phenomenal trainer, barn owner, rider, but in my opinion more importantly, an unparalleled horseman. She is someone that I look up to, admire, and wholeheartedly trust. April saved my gelding from having to be put down and in just three months, he was happily enjoying WEF. I simply cannot articulate how valuable April is to the horse world and this area. Her knowledge and talent are unmatched and her phenomenal resources - vet, farrier, equine nutritionalist - are true experts. If you aren't training and boarding with April, then I know you are sincerely missing out on learning from the best.
